Bluestem is offering an annual scholarship to Northeast Community College students through the school’s online scholarship application.
Bluestem Energy Solutions announces its launch of the Bluestem Renewable Energy Scholarship starting in the fall of 2022. The new scholarship is exclusively aimed at Northeast Community College students with an interest in career paths in the renewable energy industry.
The scholarship is open to Northeast Community College students in the following programs: Wind Energy Technology, Electrical Construction, and Electromechanical Technology. One student per year will receive the annual Bluestem scholarship by applying to Northeast’s Online Scholarship Application. Bluestem will award the $1,000 scholarship to the winner, who will be announced each year at the beginning of the fall semester. The 2022 scholarship recipient is Mitchell Edwin Jacobs, who plans on entering the Wind Energy Technology program.
With the new Bluestem Renewable Energy Scholarship, Bluestem hopes to promote education and help students join the growing renewable energy industry. The company aims to support Northeast students in their ambitions to begin careers in the renewable energy industry.
“We believe that the next generation will play an important role in shaping our country’s future, especially when it comes to the energy transition,” said Mitch Hyde, Director of Operations at Bluestem. “We’re excited to do our part to grow the workforce for the renewable energy field.”
“We are proud to be able to work with Bluestem to be able to offer this scholarship,” stated Dr. Tracy Kruse, Vice President of Development & External Affairs. “We have many students who apply for scholarships that we are not able to support. Working with employers like Bluestem who benefit from a highly skilled workforce is a win-win situation for everyone. With their support, we are able to get more students through the pipeline.”
